Locust ('Twisty Baby')

Robinia pseudoacacia 'Lace Lady'

A great conversation piece, Twisty Baby is a mostly sterile cultivar of the native Black Locust that inhabits abandoned fields and disturbed sites in Appalachia. The striking, green foliage holds its color well. The most noticeable feature is the contortion, affecting not only the stem, but also the leaves. The thorns on the stem preclude placing this tree close to high traffic areas. Twisty Baby exhibits a pleasing winter outline as well as being attractive during the growing season. Grows 20’-30' high.
