Pine, Vanderwolf

Pinus flexilis 'Vanderwolf'
Silvery-green needles of the Vanderwolf Pine
Limber Pines, or Pinus flexilis, natives of the Rocky Mountains from Canada to New Mexico, thrive in the dry, difficult growing conditions often found in that region. These trees maintain their rich green or blue-green color throughout the winter even at high elevations exposed to strong, cold winds. The 'Vanderwolf' cultivar grows more slowly with a narrow, upright habit and a mature height of 20'-30' and mature width of 10'-15.' Their silvery, blue-green needles are closely spaced. Vanderwolf Pine trees are excellent medium-sized pines for the landscape.
