Foxglove Beard Tongue

Penstemon digitalis

A clump-forming, native perennial which typically grows to about 4' tall and occurs in prairies, open woodlands and woodland edges. Lovely flowers are tubular two-lipped borne in panicles above erect stems. The flowers mature into attractive seed pods in summer. Foxglove Beard Tongue is long-lived with few insect or disease problems. Use in a naturalized areas, native plant gardens or as mass plantings at the edge of perennial beds. Will do best in full sun to light shade.
