Locust ('Twisty Baby')

Robinia pseudoacacia 'Lace Lady'

A great conversation piece. Twisty Baby is a mostly sterile cultivar of the native Black Locust that inhabits abandoned fields and disturbed sites of Appalachia. The foliage is a striking green and holds its color well. The most noticeable feature is the contortion, which affects not only the stem, but also the leaves. This plant has thorns on the stem so avoid placing the tree close to high traffic areas. Forms an interesting and pleasing winter outline as well as being attractive in the growing season. Makes a great conversation piece. Grows 20’-30 high.
